Welcome to Marshmallow Party!
Gather around the campfire in Marshmallow Party, a family-friendly marshmallow roasting card game where players compete to collect heat, manage their zone, and roast the most marshmallows.
Your Goal: Warming Up Marshmallow!
There are many marshmallow friends that need some heat to get toasty -- that's where you come in!
Gather heat and get your zone to the perfect temperature to roast marshmallows and earn points.
Gameplay - Roasting Cards
You can't roast marshmallows without heat! Luckily, that's where roasting cards come in.
On your turn, you may play up to 3 roasting cards that will aid in roasting marshmallows.
Heat Sources Cards
The main type of roasting card is a heat source, which is played in your zone and adds the number of heat to it has to your heat total. If your heat total at the end of your turn is within your marshmallow's roasting range, then your marshmallow is happy and will join you, giving you points.
Utility Roasting Cards
Other roasting card act as utility cards. For example, fire sticks move heat sources to or from your roasting zone, roasting sticks let you roast in another player's zone, and water buckets put out heat sources to cool your zone or mess up another player's strategy.
The unique mix of roasting cards means each player can approach the game with a different strategy, depending on your current marshmallow and how much heat you and other players have. Maybe your own zone is too hot, but you can use a roasting stick to roast your marshmallow in a neighboring player's zone. Or maybe another player looks close to roasting a marshmallow worth a lot of points, so you steal some of their coals with a fire stick to prevent them from finishing their marshmallow this turn. Every round of Marshmallow Party is a little different, which makes it easy to play again for a fresh experience.
Gameplay - Marshmallow Cards
What's a marshmallow party without Marshmallows?
Good thing a lot of marshmallows are here to get warm and toasty!
Types of Marshmallow Cards
Marshmallows range in size between Mini, Mallow, Jumbo.
The smaller the marshmallow, the less heat they need to be warm and ready, but also the less points they'll give you when you collect them. It's usually a good strategy to start with Mini marshmallows and work your way up to Jumbos, though sometimes the right hand and event cards could get you to a bigger marshmallow early.
Gameplay - Event Cards
Every marshmallow party has a few events in store to spice up the mood!
Event Cards
Event cards appear once every round when the player with the event token begins their turn. The effect of these cards can dramatically change up the playspace like Marshmallow Roulette, where all players shuffle and redistribute their marshmallows or Thunder Strike, which adds Sparklings to each zone, adding more heat.
